Sage Steele Posts Bloody Picture After Jon Rahm Tee Shot Hit Her In The Face & Knocked Her Teeth Out During PGA Championship
Former SportsCenter anchor Sage Steele had a rough moment in 2022 after she suffered a gruesome injury at the PGA Championship.
Steele was hit in the face at the tournament by a Jon Rahm tee shot.
A similar situation happened on Saturday. A fan at Quail Hollow was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Jon Rahm lost his approach shot on the par-4 11th hole, left, striking the man square in the head.
Thankfully, the fan was alright.
The last time Jon Rahm struck a fan with a shot was in 2022 at Southern Hills, at the PGA Championship. That unlucky bystander was Steele.
Sage Steele doubled over in obvious pain, blood pouring from her face. She was eventually escorted from the course and removed from the ESPN broadcast for the remainder of the week.
This week, Steele took to social media and posted a picture online that showed her kneeling down on one knee as her left hand could be seen with blood on it.
Steele revealed that she lost eight teeth and had three root canals as a result of her injuries.
“What is it about John Rahm’s errant shots hitting ppl ONLY at PGA championships?! Mine was exactly 3 years ago at Southern Hills, Rahm’s tee shot on hole 3, and it only cost me 8 teeth and 3 root canals!” wrote Steele.

Sage Steele, who joined ESPN in 2007, had her turbulent last few years at the network.
Steele left ESPN after settling a lawsuit she filed against the network, following 16 years with the company.
Steele sued ESPN and its parent company, claiming retaliation for comments she made on a podcast about the COVID-19 vaccine mandate and other political and social issues.
Steele, who sparked controversy over her comments about vaccine mandates, female sports reporters, and former President Barack Obama’s racial identity, saw her career at the Worldwide Leader come to an end in 2023.
The lawsuit was settled in August 2023, with the parties agreeing to part ways.
