NASCAR is not joining in on the festivities.
Sunday marked the start of an important month—Pride Month. It runs from June 1 through June 30 every year and is celebrated each month to honor the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer community.
NASCAR made an interesting decision on social media when it comes to Pride Month.
In 2024, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, LLC, an American auto racing sanctioning body, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to announce that it was supporting the month.
In 2025, things certainly changed.
As of this writing on Monday evening, they have not posted anything in support of the month.
Unlike NASCAR, several NFL teams have shown support for the month with their posts on X.

NASCAR drew the ire of some fans and the support of others after releasing a tweet in celebration of Pride Month.
This isn’t the first time they have done this.
You can date back to 2020 when the motor sport participated in the inaugural You Can Play Pride Auction.
You Can Play is an organization dedicated to ensuring equality, respect, and safety for all athletes without regard to sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Their programs are designed to support the LGBTQ+ community by building a network around them.
In 2023, they wrote n Twitter, “We celebrate the LGBTQ+ community during #PrideMonth and beyond.” the tweet read along with a Happy Pride Month banner to go with a NASCAR logo fronted by a rainbow flag.
In 2022, the organization took several measures to further encourage inclusion in the sport, flying the rainbow flag during June and introducing a line of Pride-themed merchandise.
Nobody knows for sure why they decided to push back on their support in 2025.
