Tiger Woods, a five-time Masters champion, will not be competing in the 2025 Masters Tournament due to a ruptured Achilles tendon that required surgery last month.
One of the most anticipated days on the sports calendar is just one day away from teeing off: Masters Thursday.
For the first time since his devastating car accident in 2021, Woods will not be in action on the course at Augusta National Golf Club in hopes of winning another green jacket.
Woods, one of the most decorated golfers in the history of the sport, finished 60th in the field in last year’s tournament.
Ahead of the big tournament, Tiger Woods had a message to get out as he explained his partnership with Augusta National to design a nine-hole short course.
On Monday, Woods’ golf course design company, TGR, announced a groundbreaking partnership with Augusta National, marking a new chapter for Augusta National.

Tiger Woods’ History At Augusta
For the fifth time in the last 11 playings of the Masters, Tiger Woods will not be playing.
The five-time green jacket winner will not tee it up in the 89th Masters this week at Augusta National as he recovers from a ruptured Achilles.
The 49-year-old has quite the history at Augusta.
Last year was his third consecutive tournament that he has finished below 38th place.
Woods still owns five green jackets. With one more victory, he’ll tie Jack Nicklaus for the most Masters wins at six.
