Earlier today, Foster made an emotional return to Brusly High School, where he addressed students and staff on the school’s football field. Now a national figure, he took a moment to reflect on where it all started and to express gratitude to the people who helped him rise.
“You all are so very fortunate,” Foster told the crowd. “I hope each and every one of you knows the power that you hold and the power that these people will pull out of you. I don’t want you to ever doubt the importance and care these teachers have for you. I am right here because of them.”
Foster, who graduated with a 4.0+ GPA and a 33 ACT score, was co-valedictorian of his class and is now becoming a household name across America. His return to campus was met with cheers, emotion, and pride from teachers who remember him as both brilliant and humble.
In honor of Foster’s historic achievement, the community of Addis will host a celebratory parade today at 5:00 p.m. along First Street. Organizers encourage families and residents to wear hometown colors and show support as Foster’s float makes its way through town.
The celebration will continue in Plaquemine with a free concert at 7:30 p.m. at the Bayou Plaquemine Waterfront Park. Gates open at 6:30 p.m., and Foster is expected to make a grand entrance by boat at around 7:00 p.m., traveling along Bayou Road.
Security will be present at the event, and a clear bag policy is in place. Boats are welcome to join the celebration from the bayou.
“We’re super excited and proud of John Foster,” said Addis Mayor David Toups. “He’s representing our communities—and Louisiana—as well as anyone could. This is a
