Fans are feeling it for Tiger Woods following yet another sad development.
The golf icon has announced that he has undergone another surgery following his withdrawal from The Masters via his social team, who revealed the veteran star had a subtalar fusion procedure on Wednesday afternoon.
The operation was done to correct post-traumatic arthritis caused by the talus fracture he suffered during the 2021 car crash that nearly ended his career.

It is unclear as to whether Woods will return to golf as no timeline for recovery was outlined. The team only went as far as saying that Woods “looks forward to beginning his rehabilitation.”
“The first goal is to recover and lead a much more enjoyable day-to-day life,” his agent Mark Steinberg told the Associated Press.
Social media has reacted to the news as you would expect, especially given Tiger’s recent poor luck with injuries.

I was so looking forward to seeing 83 PGA wins but I just want him to be healthy and be able to play the game that he loves with as little pain and discomfort as possible.

Fusion surgery involved the combining of two bones in cases where one of them cannot be replaced or repaired. This is quite worrying as it means that a bone in Woods’ foot needed to be attached to another. Of course, it’s not a great situation for a man who plays a sport that requires his legs and feet to be in the best condition possible.
Woods managed to sneak into the recent Masters but withdrew from the tourney with 29 holes still left to play.
Get well soon, champ.
